I decided a while back that I was not too happy with the performance of the USS Crockett I have so I want to totally repower it. It has a single 6 volt Dumas motor that fed into a gear set to drive the two shafts and is controlled by a Dumas mechanical speed controller. As I said performance was dismal. I have acquired two 12 volt Dumas motors that are mounted to a belt drive set up giving them a 3 to 1 ratio and I want to (if I can) use an electronic speed controller. Now for the tricky part. I have a few ESCs on hand and these are the only ones I am considering. The wife is laid off so hobby cash is as scarce as hens teeth at the moment. The big questions I have about them is will they take 12 volts and do you think they will handle the amperage from the two motors. I'm not sure what the total amperage is just yet and was hoping to call on the years of experience here. Here is what I have for information along with the esc description. I did try looking up the Novaks and the Traxxas on the company web sites but I don't think they are made any longer. Any help would be appreciated and thanks.
Novak Rooster, 100 amp, voltage input 6 or 7 cells. I'm pretty sure the amperage is good just not sure of the voltage.
Novak Hammer pro, 80 amp. Again voltage and does anyone know if it's reversible.
Futaba MC210 CB, this one has a 30 amp fuse so it's a voltage and amperage question
Dynamite power pulse. I have no info on this one.
Traxxas XL 1. again no information.
