    Radio for UK submariner

    Hi

I'm reaching the point with my Revell 1:72 VIIc that i need to pick a radio.
I need at least 4 channels, but 6 would be nice for future models.
I have seen lots of reasonably priced 2.4ghz and 75mhz kit on ebay, but understand that this is nor suitable for use in the UK.
What options do i have, what would you recommend for a beginner on a budget? It it posibble to retune 75mhz kit for Uk use?

    thanks

Your only options for a submarine is to use one of the European ground frequencies -40MHz and the older 27 MHz bands. No need to retune a 75MHz(which propably isn't possible anyway) as there seems to be a far wider choice of 40Mhz set available. 2.4GHz gear does not work underwater.
Hitec Zebra 4 (40Mhz) at around £40 is a good basic 4ch set. If you can strectch a bit more, one with a few more channels and accompanying computer - say a 6ch Futaba or Hitec- will be more useful if you ever plan on building other more complicated models.

Hitec Optic 6 is a great bit of kit for the money.

Sussex Model centre supply sets on 40mhz and prices are good-
