    I got a copy of

I got a copy of the price list from Tina then compared this to the Twinhorse internet buy price and found twin horse was cheaper. I then negotiated a twinhorse price via Tina

Shipping was the biggest cost for me here in NZ so I negotiated a "slow boat from China" delivery... literally.

      It only took me about

It only took me about two weeks to get mine.
They shipped in 10 days and about 5 days in transit and customs. BD.

        Ark will typically only use

Ark will typically only use air freight which is quite quick. In this case I negotiated land/sea shipping.
Currently I believe Ark is out of stock for this kit. They indicated approx 20 days to get the kit ready to ship

        Tina is very helpful though.

          My kit just showed up

My kit just showed up a few hours ago. When I get home I want to crack the box and take a look at it. I won't have time to play with it for a while, but I just can't wait to get a good look at it!

                kit arrived

My 212 kit arrived today on the slow boat from China.

A few initial few issues I need to sort:
                - missing ordered component.
                - indexing between hull sections out of line, badly in some places.
                - WTC tube PVC instead of clear. (not as per photos)

I've gone back to ark with these issues, we'll see what happens. Probably easily corrected. The indexing doesn't bother me overly much, sanding and some filler will sort that.

The kit is quite comprehensive from what I can tell. I'll get one of the guys at work to translate the manual for me.

Will post photos when I get around to starting.

                  My indexing was the same

My indexing was the same way. It must be in their mold.
That was the only thing I did not like about the kit.
But it was not too hard to correct with some sanding.
The hull material sands very well and is thick enough to not effect the model in any way. BD.

                    Thanks Dave,

                    That was my take

                    Thanks Dave,

That was my take as well re the indexing. I think it will look top notch after sanding, filling, painting, sanding... on and on..

I've emailed Tina at Arc re the other issues, we'll see what happens.

Did you get full size 1:1 plans with your kit? as per the site.

                    Scott.

                      Dave - did you rear

Dave - did you rear hull conical section fit neatly against the front hull section? I've noticed its a little thinner at the rear and the top deck scribing doesn't line up?

                        I did not get any

I did not get any plans with mine. Just the manual. I did not know it came with any plans.
The front and rear sections line up fairly well. Most of the mismatch on mine was in the keel.
It took a bit of work to get the bulkheads to fit inside of the hull that hold the bayonet rings. That was the hardest part of building the kit. BD.

                          The site arkmodel.com advertises 1:1

The site arkmodel.com advertises 1:1 drawings for both the sub and the WTC.

The deck scribings on my hull have a differing gauge on the front section to the rear.

Still battling to get some other issues sorted...

Update on a couple of issues:

** missing electric Mast component... : Apparently it was not ready as a product when they shipped the sub kit. Sadly they neither told me this when ordering or when shipping. Will apparently be another 30+ days.

** PVC WTC tube rather than clear : Apparently the clear tubes were cracking.. and they now ship only PVC. Not sure about that one.

                              The drawings were advertised on

The drawings were advertised on the arkmodel site for both the WTC and the sub kits. I've just been informed these are not available... suggested they change the site.

I would be very careful ordering from Ark that you know what you will be receiving, I suspect part of the problem is language - however there isn't much excuse for advertising one item and delivering another.

                              Kit looks good though.
