    Work in progress...

Just a couple of pics of work so far on my little submersible, based on a commercially available semi-scale styrene hull of Deep Quest. Unnamed as yet, probably end up being called SeQuel 7.

It has a tiny 125mm wtc, a 380 motor, 3 channel radio and runs off five cells.

      The three piece styrene hull

The three piece styrene hull is available here: http://www.myhobbystore.com/3258/-Su...HULBM1426.html total cost in the UK is around £30.

There is also a plan available separately here]http://www.myhobbystore.com/2085/-Submersible-BM1426-Plan.html[/url] total cost in the UK around £6

Not sure if the company ships overseas, but if you want one I've no doubt we could arrange something...

        Done a bit more detailing

Done a bit more detailing work on the sail/tower, whatever you wish to call it.

Internally, I've changed from a cylinder to a fibreglass box for the radio, it gives me a lot more room, and makes for an easier installation.

The steerable Kort nozzle is the next job.

          Managed to get the directional

Managed to get the directional nozzle completed today, it gives me about forty five degrees turn either side, which should be ample.

Started on the radio/motor installation...and contemplating installing a ballast tank to give me static dive capability. I'm using a large fibreglass radio box instead of a cylinder, so there's plenty of room for pump and tank.

The tube that runs across the lower half of the hull is the dive plane rod.

            An update on progress...

            Did some

            An update on progress...

Did some more detail work today on the deck secton and fitted the forward observation window..this started off life as a specimen bottle from my doctor

The plan is to have an LED inside the forward hull section which will throw light forwards through the window.

The r/c box is all but completed, just the main battery packs to install now.

              Did a bit more work

Did a bit more work this afternoon, got the rear stabiliser fin made and attached, started on the dive vanes now.

Couple of pics attached...one shows the r/c box installment and one is just a general shot.

Take your time. I've always felt finishing a submarine is a bit anti-climactic, as I enjoy building the most of all.

                        An update on progress over

An update on progress over the last couple of days..

Apart from fitting the led lights and the two searchlights, detailing is completed and ready to apply a coat of primer or two.

The pic of the radio box shows it almost ready to go, I'm just waiting on the battery pack to arrive. The set of cells shown are there just to give me an idea as to how much space to leave when I was fitting the r/c gear.

Once the batteries have arrived it's then onto ballasting trials...

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that the vessel has now officially renamed as 'SeQuel 8'.
