I show you some pictures taken of the hull, after, de-molding, of the 1:10 Ictineo-II.
This proyect is being carry out for a friend modeler, Antoni Barata, and me.
The difficulties of this proyect, shared between us, make affordable them.
The woks are divided: I did the CAD design, working on the original Monturiol’s plans (courtesy of Barcelona Shipping Museum), composites works, engines and gadgets, and RC stuff. Antoni is a Museum-master craftsman- , and is skillful in wooden and metal works.
The hull is made of epoxy (12 hrs) - fiberglass
The sub is drived by a “Twin Launch Stuart Turner†with air compressed.
This year is the 150th anniversary of the first public appearance of the Monturiol’s Ictineo-I, in Barcelona harbor in 1859, and we hope to have finished the work for September, when the Museum make the Celebration.
I’ll post some pictures with the advance of the works
Greetings
Pedro
