That would be great to
That would be great to get more information on the model.
The wood subs make for a very interesting build. When I built my Turtle I made an epoxyglass hull then covered it with wood veneer planking.
Getting the wood to follow the curves of the sub proved quite challenging.

I know that model. it
I know that model. it was a pure wooden model (it is
originally a static kit) which was saturated in resin later
on in the build (as far as I know).
I'll have a look around for more photo's.
The name of the builder is Olaf Hantke (I believe).
Unfortunately I have no email address of him, but more details
can be found here :

Ahh, Mr Monturiol's invention.
A modelmaker here in the UK has scratchbuilt an Ictineo II. However I'm convinced he has the prop wrong- the blade angles on the propeller are far too coarse. It's relegated to static duty as it didn't run very well according to it's owner, probably because of the prop.

Ictineo-II
Hi Friends:
Thank you very much for your answer and your interest.
If someone is interested in Ictineo-II, I'm building a RC scratchbuilt 1:10 Scale. I show you sometimes ago a draw of the plans, made with Microstation (Autocad).
The main source of information of this incredible and marvel invention in the submarine history, es the book that Monturiol wrote, describing their invention. Moreless 50 years after, when Peral, another submarine inventor from Spain, built the "Peral", the book was published.
There is a facsimile of original book, with a complete description of their machinery and the "underwater steam engine" which he used as propulsion and too, as source of oxygen. Also the book has a facsimil of the original drawings. The book is named "Ensayo sobre el arte de navegar por debajo del agua, escrito por el inventor del IctÃneo o Barco-pez Narciso Monturiol"
For me, is the main source of information. Also, some biography of Monturiol, and pictures taken in "Museo Maritimo de Barcelona". In this museum, there a static model 1:10 scale exactly the original one.
The book is in Internet http://www.lluisvives.com/servlet/Sirve ... /index.htm
Greetings
Pedro
