    Run At Ginnie Springs

The other day was so cool and bright that I had to go to one of my favorit places here in Florida.

The water is claimed to be the clearest in the world!

72 degrees year round I had to take a swim and not for my sub.

On the edge of the Abiss a crack that goes 30 ft !

I plan on making underwater movies here with my and fellow captain subs, there is a hole that is as blue as the sky and the radio waves make it all the way down about 20 ft ,thats pure water!

      Ya that is my aim

Ya that is my aim and to have it all on underwater vedeo would be spectacular!

This place has camping,RVs,scuba, pavillions baths and store.
I plan on useing 4 to 5 underwater camarras arranged around and in the springs ridge .Along with camarras atached to the subs for later download.

      Ill get with the guys.

      All are welcome!

Take a much-needed break and relax in one of Florida’s most beautiful natural resources. Ginnie Springs is the perfect getaway for everyone.

        We need to make arrangements

We need to make arrangements for a sub run up there! Its about 4.5hrs from me, but that water looks like it would be worth the trip! How many subs can we get, and who is up around that neck of the woods that could attend?

It should be a yearly, "Florida Mid-winter Fun Run". Yeah... I like the sound of that!

            Yes Bob thats my target

Yes Bob thats my target ,I know there are at least 8 to 10 Captains in the North and South of here and its just a moter of getting them all together.

You would think that the water is cold as heck but its warmer than the air and so dilicius to hop into!

Bob your Nautilus would be right at home in those waters, imagine her coming out of the cave!

I have before driven a sub via a stand off video link and its alot of fun but not in water this clear.

The best time is in the late spring winter months as there are very few snorklers and not too many divers, they dont bother at all since they go into the caves.

The winter fun run would be well worth the trip as this place is ausome!

                Yes let me know too.

Yes let me know too. I was just there during the thanksgiving weekend camping with friends. While I was there I dressed out in my wet suit(it was cold outside)and did some late night snorkelling. Great place. For submarining the only spring that I saw that would be suitable would be the main spring but it was very crowded with dive classes.

                  Yes there are classes and

Yes there are classes and we can plan around them ,I can find out if we can even reserve the spring for a time.

                  Also the pavillions are reservable.
Oh one thing I forgot ,if you have a sub that has light bring them for the night show! The divers sometimes put on a spectaqular one!
                  Wait till they see subs!
I might add some lazer pointers.
Lets see how many Captains we have comitted and then work out the best time.
Its strange but when I went on new years day it was prity dead ,just perfect for ops.

The smaller spring The Devils Ear is good for running as well ,its shallowerer to about 6 ft sandy white bottom and is long and narrow, with a 35ft abissal crack at one end as seen in the first pic.
Its all perfectly useable for us all any size sub.

Any way the main venue will be the big Ginnie springs.

You should see about an open regatta like the subron 4 boys do. I might have to plan a trip to see the folks in FL if thats the case. An excuse is an excuse and that water is fabulous!
