Thanks it's the models by design mouldings i'm thinking of using it's info on the class in general drawrings pics etc i can't seem to find much on the net.are there any books that include info on them
Is the OTW x craft the same class it looks quite different?
Thanks i'll get hold of those books. Just planning at the moment not sure which system to use yet but it'll probably be an engel tank for ease of install. or maybe if i can source the components an air pump and bladder system but not 100% sure how to go about it.
I'm having a go at the MBD XCraft right now. I have a lot of photos from various sources which show some errors in the model, but seeing as the masters were made some 50 years ago and their data was sheer guesswork, its a pretty neat looking model.
The 4 fins on the rear aren't quite to scale, but for all that it's a well formed model. The Chatham exhibit shows these fins to have a 'roundness' to them, but all the drawing show them to be more square. Some sanding of the fins could get them to look more rounded- we'll see. I guess a really good 'fittings kit' could address these minor points, but Merriman doesn't have the time right now.
I'm just going to use a Snort system, no gas, no bladders, ballasted to have snorkel just out of the water with a full ballast tank. Nice and simple, and will run on a 4 ch radio too.
When I'm a little further ahead with the build, I'll post some photos.
