    Weathering To The Max

Just finished up on the first stage of weathering my XXI and what fun it has been creating it.

    Took only 2 days miestro!

Masts are retracted for finishing and the serface is sealed with CEM automotive ultra flat. The deep browns and bright oranges stay that way even after sealing with this sealer.More finer weathering is next and she will be done along with the numbers.

Yes she is a bit rustic ,but thats what I wanted in this sub since towards the end of the war they where poorly maintained and litaraly went thrugh hell .
Imagine what she looked like after she was salvaged off the bottom some years later!

Thank you thank you ,I kind of expected this response when she was changing colors in front of me ,I thaught wow this sub looks cool, its been through hell and back and still wants to fight on!
I always wanted to build a rust bucket of a U boat ,they just show alot of charecter in how the Germans and the elemnts took there tool on these great vessels.

Ill be adding some more minor details and the stern line as well,it was removed for the process.
It is not paint but real steal that is finely ground and applied then a process is started that is not asidic and safe on any serface just about.

Everybody asks ,is it made of steal? well they are shocked to hear that its realy plastic, what an illustion.
From now on all of my subs will have some stage of decrepidness character, its just too much fun!!

This is the stuff I use. It contains minute iron fillings that, when the "Activator" is applied just rusts over about ten minutes or so and keeps on rusting. I LOVE IT!!!!

This is how my Robbe U-1008 turned out. I also use this on every one of my WW2 subs.
