I wanted to show a few photos of my Sterling 1955 ChrisCraft 21’ Cobra.
This model is 52 years old and was made in 1956.
I purchased it about 20 years ago. It was meant to be powered by a very low power electric motor of the time.
I have had it on display for years and decided to do a retrofit and put in a more powerful motor and R/C system.
I installed a speed 280 on direct drive, a Novak SPY ESC, a Novak Xxtra R/X, and a 7.4V Lithium battery. It gets a lot of water inside when it runs, but she really hauls ass!! And turns on a dime!!
I am working on a video we shot over the weekend trying it out in the pool.
You can see I even kept the original box which is worth a fortune itself. If you can find the kits they go for big bucks.
I wish someone made a wood 21’ Cobra model. I think it is so much nicer looking than the 18’.
Dumas are you listening????? Ha!! BD.
