Very very nice job. One small item though, the lower rudder should also be the same red you used on the lower hull. I've been watching your build for some time now, you should be commended for sticking with it. Oh an email is inbound.

She looks great!! but too new and needs some weathering.

I know its hard to rust up that beutyfull paint job but it gives so much more character to a sub and with those boomers they dont have much rust but perhaps a eggshell finish would do it.

Nice to see your use of multypin connectors,I have used them for years and are a profestional method of electrical connections,no wonder the military uses them.

Let me know about the hydraulic ballanceing system I made and other aplications such as doors and masts that will make your sub even more realistic.

              yup the rudder is red

yup the rudder is red and so are the stabilizers half way down. Its an even split in color the whole way.

Please don't weather it! Maybe it doesn't need to be so shiny, but weathering is ugly.

                  Thanks, guys!! :-)

Thank you all for the input!
I have some clear paint which is mush less gloss, and after putting the depth-markings on it, I am considering to give it a spray with that.
I have never done weathering, but it could be fun to try and play with it on a mock-up in the workshop..

                  See ya' later.

Nuke power: Does that include the towed array tube, or does the red only apply to the vertical stabilizer surface? I will paint the lower rudder, and the stabilizers asap, I wanna be correct.
A VERY helpfull gentleman in here send me the draft markings, so they will come on too!

                      You want to be correct

You want to be correct on the paint or everything?

As far as paint on the towed array housings. On the real thing they are not center line the drop down after the edge of the stabilizer and level out straight after the fattest part of the stabilizer. There fore they are red and below the centerline itself on both sides.

oh... well, I guess I will have a slightly mutated version then. The tubes are fixed centerline already. Thanks anyway

I guess the blueprints I bought wwaaayyy back was a little off.

                          Work with what you got!

Work with what you got! Just paint them half and half and call it a day I say. If you have other questions just ask but, your basically done anyway.

Is your emergency buoy for boat recovery from loss of comunications?

                            Hi again.

                            Buoy: Yes, sort of.

                            Hi again.

Buoy: Yes, sort of. The sub will surface if communication is lost, but if it sinks for some reason, or gets stuck down there in something, then the buoy will be released when the batteries drain. A line then allows me to find her in the mud, darkness, vegitation or whatever. It's one of those things that I have, but hope never to use.
