    Mtroniks speed controller 100% waterproof?

The Mtroniks speed controllers are described as 100% waterproof.

Has anyone actually tried use them out of the WTC?

I am using two of them to drive 3 motors, and it would be a lot simpler to keep them out of the WTC. They would stay nice and cool in their wet environment and I would not have to run about 9 connections through the wall of the WTC.

Still I wonder if 100% waterproof means it can go a couple of inches under water for a short time...

    I have not tried them

I have not tried them in water but that blue contact switch could be a cndidate for a leak.

The ESC that I use from Aqucraft AQUM 7037 has much higher amprege it must be in the 40s or 50s since I use on a cordless drill motor drive of 12 volts and turns a prop of 5.5 inches and does not even get warm!.
Also cheaper at 29.00$ at Hobbie Lobby and have a very slow start in reverse as well as forward,I like them so much that all of my subs will have them and yes they do run submerged as the cassing and wirers are sealed in epoxy. Also are rock solid in tandem or more powertrains.also there is a blue proboat one but does not have a very slow start ,so I use those for reversing and swictching aplications.
See my post about this ESC in Tips and Tricks I believe just posted.

I like the sound of the slow start on the Aqucraft AQUM 7037. Thanks Dave. Will check out that post.

I had a reply from Mtroniks:
      Hi,

Our speed controls will work very happily completely submerged!

So it sounds like I have a lot more space in my WTC.

I will be worried about it for the first few runs, and leave space in the WTC just in case I need it later...

        I hate to say it

I hate to say it but my Aquacraft ESC did take on water. Once dried out it worked again.

The Viper on the other hand had NP.

        Just my experience.
