        Ok work is nearing completion

Ok work is nearing completion for the type VII prototype. I have nearly completed the fittings kit for this model and have it running.

Thats right I made the fittings kit for this one. Meriman supervised and ensured quality assurance but this fittings kit will have my designs and drawings involved. So I hope you guys buy one so I can feel better about myself.

So far I have created the intermediate molds and am waiting on more rubber to move on to the master. Not sure how many of you out there appreciate what it takes to create a propeller but it is alot of work. I will make a more detailed post when it is complete but here are some more sneak peaks.

          Here are some more shots

Here are some more shots of whats coming.

There is a shot of me forming the propeller blades, rudder, and dive planes.
Also a shot of the fully outfitted Sub Driver that was derived from the seaview. it is outfitted with an ADF unit that Kevin McLeod desinged and built.

              I was putting the rudder

I was putting the rudder linkages together today and just cant seem to find anything that makes me happy.

Anyone out there have some suggestions for this. Pictures are even better.

I cant seem to get a good rudder throw due to the narrowing walls of the sub.

                Kevin,

Rig up a pulley system......one sheave on the rudder post and the other one somewhere forward, to which a control arm would be attached. It's what I'm using to control the stern planes of my Type II. Photos are difficult since it's in the skeg....

An excellent idea! Or even a gear type system. The only problem I can see is getting a belt or chain of the correct size.

                  Any tips on this one?

                    I used a medium size

I used a medium size mono-filament with two small sheaves made on the lathe......works great.
