    If you are worried about

If you are worried about size then I really recommend the vacuum pumps at

You can read up on how to use them on thread]http://s181686668.onlinehome.us/phpBB2/ ... oards.php5[/url]

The snort system give you all the benefits that Jeff was talking about:
    - surface / dive cycles only limited by battery life.
    - low pressure system.
    - compact.

But you would need to drive to the surface to get part of the sail in the air so you can start drawing surface air into the tank. Unless you have a backup air supply. But then you are back at the start of this thread, building a small air tank. At least with the snort setup that tank is only for getting your sub to the surface, so it can be small. The rest of the air is external.

      Like I said before and

Like I said before and many times to all fellow Captains ,my spelling is far from perfect but then we are not discusing how we spell nor is this the place to express it.How we depend on computers to do even our spelling ,what a shame.
I dont care since its hard enough to translate from spanish to english all at once ,try that then get back with me.

No insult taken as this is not a school.

I do not trying to sell you guys on a ballast system that was developed years ago to be safe and green and is the most similar to the real thing.

I have some 12 subs to build within a tight budget and if I had to do it the way I have seen on this forum I would be broke along time ago.
300.00$ to 400.00$ for a pressure hull is a bit steep if it can be made for one tenth that.
I invest in hulls and quality radios, the rest I do on my own threw a lengthy testing process before anything goes in the subs.
And of course to each there own, feel free to reinvent the wheel its your money and time.

I see now your sub is very small and it would take a microwpump.

Well good luck and dont give up,just be safe.

        In closing, after reading several

In closing, after reading several of your posts, I have to say, your spelling is, well, not very good at all. Not that I'm trying to insult you, but after seeing so many misspelled words I find it hard not to say something about it. I'd recommend visiting hotforwords.com and watching a few of Marina's lessons. I think you'll find them worthwile, even if you don't care too much about your spelling.

Wow! Way to go Steve, I've always been knocked out by the wealth of information you've brought to this forum. Nice spelling though!

          Dave,

I didn't realize English was not your first language. It wasn't the nicest thing I could have said, but I already said it, so I was a jerk. I'm sorry, for what its worth..

          Sub culture,

Thank you for pointing out and making very clear how worthless my limited presence has been on this forum. I'm also sorry to disappoint you with the posts I have made and that none of them have contained any useful information.

            You're welcome.

            It's as well to

            You're welcome.

It's as well to remember that a lot of creative folk often have trouble putting their thoughts and ideas into words.

At least you had the guts to apologize.

              Andy,

              It took no guts to

              Andy,

It took no guts to apologize. After reading Dave's response and reviewing what I had said, I felt it was merited.

Since you essentially confirmed your insult to me with your last post, even after I apologized for mine which wasn't even directed at you, I'll explain why I made my earlier remark, which I still admit was not in good taste to begin with.

I know Dave has been posting responses to a couple of my threads out of a desire to provide helpful information. But, when he started to imply that everything he does, or radio he owns is the best way or the best stuff..and anything else is "reinventing the wheel" or wasting money. And says things like, I should be getting rid of the radio I ordered and buy the one he has instead. After hearing all that I got a little agitated. So, I made an inappropriate comment as a result.

You can see that Jeff may have been feeling the same way, but gave a more mature response than I did:

              "Dave,

              To each his own.

I actually prefer to use a different ballast system in each new sub I build. There are pluses and minuses for every system. No one ballast system type is perfect.

              -Jeff"

People who do have a lot of knowledge on here can give suggestions without sounding condescending and like they know everything there is to know about this hobby (even if they ALMOST do). Mr. Dory is an example of this.

Anyway, I'm certainly not going to be running off with my tail between my legs and I'd rather not be totally villified, so I wrote this post to explain my comment and how I felt at the time I made it, to everyone who has been reading this thread.

A several years ago David M did a video on how to make your own
"containment vessels" everything that one needed for the project was covered in it. Tools, materials, cleanup the whole works..
