    Closed cell foam

Does any closed cell foam work for trimming a sub? I asked this because some types of closed cell foam (like EVA) says it's only water resistant. How can foam be water resistant?

EDIT: I have ordered some BlueCor foam, but this EVA stuff seems very durable!

    I have been using Midwest

I have been using Midwest CellFoam-88 for trimming. It is available in different thicknesses from hobby shops. It is a Depron type foam. BD.

      Close cell foam

I have found that a swimmers noodle sold at most swim shops and Wal-Mart stores in their seasonal dept. has worked well when used in the smaller diameter hulls as I used it in my Revell Gato, fits the inner hull dimensions and is reasonably priced. Al,

        Closed sell foam..

        Hi

I have used some blue plates called "Floor-mate". You see further details at http://www.robse.dk/pages/SSBN/Weights.asp
The great thing about this compared to expanded poly. is that it does not soak, and it's far easier to work and shape. It is not THAT resistant to various glues, but the silicone you would use in eg. bathrooms are great for gluing the FloorMate on place. (Does not disolve it..)
