Prop shaft rotation

Hey all,

If facing the stern of a U-Boat (looking in the same direction the boat is facing), which way do the prop shafts rotate ? One will obviously turn clockwise, and the other counter clockwise, but which side does which ?

Well, the prop shafts can turn both ways.....depending on whether the boat moves forward or reverse.

Okay, now seriously......

The starboard propeller rotates clockwise for forward boat movement and the port prop moves counter-clockwise.

You mean they change directions depending on forward or backward movement ?? ....oh great, this changes my entire design concept.

Thanks for the info, I was hoping you would come through tonight as I have plans on prop shaft/ prop installation on the VIIc/41 tomorrow, and really didn't want to put them on backwards....subjecting myself to even more ridicule
