    pitch leveler for tiny subs?

I know there's been debate as to whether or not an automatic pitch leveler was "worth it." Given the debate often involved subs at least 24" in length (and given the fact that I don't know exactly how the APC-4 works, ie does it measure angular position, acceleration, or speed), is it worth putting an APC-4 in a 15" sub, like my Alfa?

My experience is that small models need an APC even more than big ones,
because less mass->quick deviation from level.

I have one in a trumpeter Kilo.

I figured that might be a possibility, as small R/C helicopters are much more "twitchy" that larger ones. I didn't know if the physics applied to submarines as well.

Guys- This is only base on my 40 years of "working Subs building" If it goes in the water, It needs an APC of one type or other" I have one in my 1/96 USS BlUEBACK a Small World Models Kit. It makes all the differnce in the world in running. Trust me on this, once you have done it, you won't be with out it. It truly makes your boat run just like the real ones... Could I recommend Norbert Bruggens

Could I recommend Norbert Bruggens "Stamp" pitch controller.

Tiny and very good - same size as a stamp by the way!

Also Christian Feldmann's little pitch controller, about 55 euro last time I enquired-

Very small, check with the size of the servo plug adjacent to the leveller.

                Question about the APC-4:

Once the APC-4 is set, does the submarine have to be 100% level every time the submarine is turned on?

How so? It seems like that's how the APC-4 is set. Normally, with ESCs, they are set by pressing buttons or dealing with jumpers...I figured the APC-4 would be the same way. The only thing I can see during the setting or installation phase that "stands out" is that the radio is turned on last.

APC-4 was designed to be as user friendly as possible. Once it's set, you can forget about it.....it will just keep on doing its thing.

So what "sets" it? What is there about the set up process that's different then me just turning on my Tx, plugging in the battery to the ESC, flipping the ESC's switch, sealing the the WTC, securing the WTC in the hull, securing the hull halves together, then placing the WTC into the water?
