Revell 1:72 Type VII Information Needed

To all with Experience with the Revell 1/72 Type VII. I would like to know a few things , I have the, I believe Nautalus wooden deck for the Type VII.

Is it true that the wooden deck is O.K for use on the sub when it is to be R.C with diving capability. Or because of the such scale size small grill work that air bubles can`t escape and that is No good for a diving sub.

Also could I use photo etch details to increase the detailing of the sub and have them stay on through diving use and all its forces acting on the parts ? What / how do I glue them onto the sub. Those details also include deck guns as well.

    Thanks, George

    George,

    Whether you use the laser-cut

    George,

Whether you use the laser-cut wood deck or the photo-etched deck, the slots are so small that you will see very little air escape through them. Those decks look nice though! Also, I would not use the wood deck as it will be very hard to seal it properly so as to not allow any of the wood to get wet and swell. (I only have a PE deck for my Revell Type VII, but I believe that both decks have slots of the same size)

For attaching the PE detail parts...just use CA. Make sure that all the glue joints are painted. This will do a good job of protecting the CA from absorbing water.
