    Ferrit rings on servo leads?

    Hi guys.
Having my WTC with the electronics taken apart for other reasons, I figured I'd battle a small servo-gjitter issue while I was inside the module.
Is it a good idea to wrap the servo leads around a ferrit-ring, or will that effect the wanted signal in a negative way?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Robert,

    Wrapping your servo leads

    Hi Robert,

Wrapping your servo leads around a ferrite torroid will not harm the signal you're trying to receive. Most ferrites affect signals/noise in the hundreds of kiloHertz to MegaHertz region, the signal received by your servo comes at a rate of ~60Hz.

        Hi Tom,

While they may help, ferrites are no substitute for snubber caps on the motor leads and case.

Definitely have a careful read over David's article (Beat RFI, Dec 2007 SCR) he knows what he's talking about! (Although admittedly I've never been forced to take things to such extents.)
