Hello,
Where do I start,
I've just had a major overhaul of my boat. Turns out my motor /prop combo was the reason for the fried ESC. I bought a new motor/ g'box and a Viper 10 ESC. ( nice little thing)
I hooked it all up last night and it works beautifully. Then I realised that the Negative connection from the Battery to the ESC was not connected and yet the ESC was working fine!!!! The speed controller ran fine whether the pump was connected and working or not connected.
I know that there is no substitute for actually looking over the WTC and running tests. However ALL SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT MAY BE HAPPENING CAN ONLY HELP< SO PLEASE
O.K So there are lots of questions you need to know to be able to give an educated guess. I have an electronics savy individual who will look over the boat soon but any suggestions none the less would be superb.
The Boat uses a Pump ballast tank. I run 2 x 6V SLA batteries 1.3 Ah They are hooked in series so that 6v runs to the REC ,servo's and ESC. The 12v runs to the pump on a separate + cable.
I run a Hitec 555 Rec and servo's are standard. MY WTC is very small. The ESC is placed very close to the pump switch and right over the top of the Neg threaded rod.
I have included pics . Here you can see the black neg cable sitting on top of the pump tube. The power is deliverd down the two threaded rods that run down the length of the WTC. They tighten the end caps and supply power. I simply hook up the electronics to these "rails".
Thankyou for your time. Look over the pics and give me any idea...
regards,
David H
