    You can use a D&E

You can use a D&E WTC and you will have done well. It comes with a 500 size motor and 3-1 reduction built in. That is the easiest option.
Dont overthink the build. Keep it straightforward and it will almost fall together.
    I have one.

      I have, just can't wait

I have, just can't wait to get it. However I got the 500 7.2 V (wonder if it is Mabushi or Graupner) instead 'cause that's what he had and I took it.
Is there a Sealed Lead Acid 7.2 battery or a 12V, 6V will do just fine?
I'm not interested in going too fast, but rather scale speed.
What set up would you recommend for longer running times , say two hrs?

      thanks,

        Corsaire,
        Not a criticism, but

        Corsaire,
Not a criticism, but just an observation...

You would do far better posting these questions on technical R/C details in the either General Forum or R/C Modeler sections of the Boards. This forum (Wayne's Russian World) was started by Wayne as a place to post photos, diagrams & information on the Russian submarine classes.

You will get more responses and technical tips posting these questions on those venues, as folks only occasionally visit this section when they want to look at the latest information on specific classes of Russian submarines.
