    1/96 Oscar II Bow Planes

    Hello All,

After what I though was a well engineered idea for bow planes that retract and function properly, I am at a point of dismay. What are you Oscar drivers doing out there? I feel like I made a mistake with cutting those big holes in the bow of my nice new hull. I have a few shots of Kevin's Oscar, but I am not sure how to replicate that? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi Eric,

What are you getting hung up on? Are you trying to replicate my "brass tube and ball link" retract mechanism for your SS Oscar, or are you starting with a different mechanism? With more details I'm sure we can get you sorted out!

      Kevin,

Just the man I needed to hear from. I tried a design similar to your tube, ball link method, but my plane retracting axis didn't exactly match up with the plane angle axis. (ie bad design) Can I get a more detailed shot of your parts layout (larger resolution), and I may be able to feel it out a little better...

      Thanks

        Hi Eric,

I finally found the high-rez original of the shot I posted here, shoot me your email and I'll send it to you.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "plane angle axis" and "retract angle axis" and the fact that they didn't match up- they should be exactly at right angles to one another... Once you've had the chance to look at the higher rez photo let me know and I'll try to explain the essentials...
