I think I've already mentioned the air hooter pumps, which will empty a tank of the size you have in a few seconds flat. Run off 12 volts.

Hi Kerry
Your attempts at the 80" have me rethinking my purchase.
I know that with the 57" a Dave Welch 3" WTC will work, according to Steve Neill
That makes things a lot easier. As to transporatation, Mike Deboer agrees moving the 80" around would be a hassel, while the 57" is much more accomadating within the confines of a car.

I think the 57" is big enough.
I am saving my dough.
I will get one soon.

I have been working on the finish of my first Seaview, this has the Merriman unit installed.


I set it in the water and this is how it sat with the ballast chamber full of air


It slowly settled as the ballast chamber filled. I think its just about right....




I think I got it just perfect the first time...


When the ballast chamber finally filled with water, it was slightly negitive.



Here is a view of the foam placement so far. There is only foam along the midline right now.


If I need too, I will take out a little weight and add foam to the bow and stern, but I need to field test it now.


Thats one down, Big Dave Welch's unit is next, then one more Merriman unit...I got three...LOL.
I am giving a Merriman unit to my Granddaughter. I am keeping one of each for myself.
Onwards to a large 57" Deboer.

Advice and counsel from Subculture has led me to consider reversing my snort mindset and pumping water instead of air.
This would involve the brilliant Skip Asay design used in his Albacore- open vent on top of tank leading to induction mast in the sail, a conrollable valve on the underside of the tank opening to fill, and a pump to pull/empty water from the tank. For less than $25, my local marine store yielded the Rule Bilge Pump Model 25D][/url]

Yes, and really cool might be to plumb the output into jet fountain outlets on either side of the deck, or perhaps aim them outboard as broadside water cannons. While running surfaced, I could take on a little ballast for ammo and blast my way back to proper surfaced waterline!
Some may return fire with nifty torpedos bouncing off my manta fins, and once you are empty I will walk in a phaser stream against your sail at 500 GPH.
Muwahahaha !

Very nice information being presented here and I am glad the thread is allowed to included Seaview information in general and certain ways to skin this cat.

I hope to get my Deboer soon, but man I would like to go all the way for the big 1/60 scale, 80" model.
I am just concerned about getting in over my head with a possible self made cylinder vs a ready to run Big Dave 3" for the 57" version.

I think with the basis of the bilge pump, the 80 is doable.

Just playing around. This is an old picture that I had found and couldnt resist. If you look closely at the Seaview it is a early picture during her construction. Dont worry the Seaview is safe. Besides you cant cut a Titanium hull with a chain saw!

Thats good news.
I got good news too.
I added more foam front and back, put back in the last weight and she sits PERFECT, no listing.


I weighed her and she comes in at 4.18pds. This is a Snort Seaview, WTC system.

Its done and ready for RC action. Comes complete with working sailplanes, diveplanes and rudder as well as dual pumpjets.
I just need to wire in several LEDS and resistors.

I have this computer Radio originally for helicopter. Futuba, FP-T7UHP Super PCM1024, is the model.
7 channels with a spectra 75Mhz synethsized tx module.
I have an NERS electronic nano switch coming, which is to turn the Snort pump on/off.
Also a new top of the line autoleveler and failsafe unit, from Matt at Precision Sub, I will install them when they come in.
