Type XXIII: UZO or not UZO?

I've started to build the ICM Type XXIII in 1/144. It comes with a column at the front of the deck in the sail that seems to be the UZO column. I found some photos showing a shelf or something like that and some big scale models of the Type XXIII with binoculars on that area.

My question is: Was there any column for the UZO? Did the XXIII had a UZO? (I cannot imagine a Typ XXIII carrying a surface attack)

I can't find detailed plans of the sail deck.

I just checked on the drawings I have (the full version that are in the Vom Original Zum Modell) and you can see the UZO installed on a sort of littletable (not a column) just after the front bridge wall (on the other side of the spray deflector).
I will take a pic and send it to you (it will be better than my poor words...)
