Looking for magazine article

I saw it a few years ago. Someone superdetailed a model of a German type XXI http://www.combatreform2.com/typeXXIuboatinterior.jpg. The sub was in drydock --- also hyperdetailed!

The article mentioned lots of painting tips on things like weathering, the "beard" and such. And a technique that entailed airbrushing over soapy water.

Does anyone remember that article? Where can I get a copy?

The article I think you are remembering was in the January 2006 edition of Fine Scale Modeler and was built and written up by Ken Hurt who as I just learned re reading it was a founding member of the SubCommittee and its first president.

Huh, learn something every day...

If you don't have that edition perhaps you could get one from the fine folks at FSM

Mark, that link lead to a dead site. All that was available was the main page. None of the pages linked on the left hand side ever came up.

Tom, I will look through my back issues asap. Don't know if that was before or after I let my subscription lapse. (Got tired of the umpteenth tank or plane model article. )
