Very cool... we need all the 1:8th scale research subs we can get our hands on. Its cool to see the delta "flying chase".

I found the following thread a few months ago, and wonder if your Deep Rover has any family ties to Cord's:

      again, fantastic job.

        Deep Rover

        Hi Tim
the Deep Rover of Cord is nearly similar to mine. When Norbert Brüggen had made the first CNC Sheets it is usefull to have two three Beta Testers.
Cord is a very good modell builder so it was his turn to build the third beta. Take a look at his page you will see also some excellent handcraftet e motors.
There are two other Rovers right now in building and i think when they are ready the CNC kit is ready for sale by Norbert.
My job was to build the first protoype, get all the original documents + fotos to prepare the CNC construction of Norbert.
        Cheers
        Carsten

          Do you know anything about

Do you know anything about the Deepflight Aviator model that was pictured on the 'rcboot' website.

Looks in the same ilk as Cords, Norbert or your work.

            Carsten,

does this mean that your Rover also has the custom built e motors, and you simply didn't document their construction, or are you using off the shelf e motors?

              the leading thought 2003

              Tim

the leading thought 2003 on this project was how to bring a Bowl like a Deep Rover with simple technic that every modellbuilder can use to dive , so i did not use the custom build motors.

I think that 90 % of the modellbuilder will not be able ore willed to build there own special motors and adjusters ( like me). I also really doubt that a lot of people will spend 600 Euro for four motors + 600 Euro for the four adjusters without a guarantee that they work in a line.

I use cheap 280 Motors that are running completly wet with standart cheap adjusters ands the sub runs fantastic. I have described in my book the Trieste of my friend Erich Frotzler from Austria. He runs his sub with wet motors for 3 year without any complication so why burning money?

Cord was only involved as an beta teaster at the end of the procject and its good to know what different variations in building the sub the Deep Rover offers.
It will be not a readymade Kit, erveryone can descide on its own whitch technique to use.
              Kind regards
              Carsten
