    1/96 Oscar details aquisition

Opened up a box today and was blown away by the detail.
Had to show it here. This is the kind of excellent quality that Vladamir puts into his hulls.
    Masts

    Photoetch

    Dry transfer decals

    Awosome work!!!!

    Amazing isint it! When I

Amazing isint it! When I opened mine I was blown away at the detail and high quality parts ,the props are a work of art with there multi fin atenuators.
I checked the thrust to rpm ratio in the tank and wow those props can realy put out!The Akula II s prop had to increase the pitch so that a greatewr amount of thrust could be optatained,to much cavitation.

Is your hull the thin vertion?I will have to reinforce mine but thats no big deal.
Mine will be a compressor based ballast system along with hydraulic masts and doors, dive planes. Also she will be armed with miisles and possibly torpedoes.

Ill post the progress of this build, but first I have to finish her big brother Typhoon also in 1/96 cant wait to see those two together dock side!.

      I have a Vladimir Akula,

I have a Vladimir Akula, but I had already had a deal with Kevin on his Oscar kit, so I got that one, which, as many saw at the Regatta, Kevin's work is extrememly impressive (good lecture too!).
I talked Vladimir out of the details upgrade on a one-time deal (no, he wont sell them seperately ).
The Akula is impressive as well. For the moment, I am working on another project, but still aquiring when I can, for the others.
      Nice Typhoon. 1/96 ? a Copeland hull?
Here are my hulls at the subron 5 regatta

I have a LOT of work to do

        Those are really nice parts

Those are really nice parts Wayne. Ya know, if you live in a real depressed economy you can spend the time to do this great work and still not charge a lot. Vladmir has a big advantage over us there. He does beautiful work.

              I just got to see

I just got to see one of vladimir's oscars at my last fun sail and it was unbelieveable. The attention he paid just to the prop is incredible. Ofcourse making the rudder linkage would make me pull my hair out!!!!

                My Oscar should be here

My Oscar should be here any day now. I have finally set my sights on a sub, and will stick to it and finish it. I missed my chances with my old 1/96 32p Typhoon, and now I will have the Oscar. Hopefully my employer will keep me here for another 3 year tour in Jax so I can run with you DeepSouth Gents... Will post pics when available.

                  Oscar arrived safe and sound.

Oscar arrived safe and sound. I was amazed at just the care and effort that went into packing the kit for shipping. Everything inside the box was perfect. Hull is awesome, scopes and antenna's are works of art, and I still can't set the props down. There is even a color printed page with markings, paint scheme, and other info in there. Too much. Vladimir really deserves a hearty thank you for providing what he does. I can't wait to get this thing going.
