    UW Video - A2K - Subcamera

It was a good weekend at the cottage, captured lots of cool video. Here is a quick sample, I will try and edit some stuff together as time permits and post more ...

    Here is a 5 minute

Here is a 5 minute clip with the sub hull in camera from different perspectives.

I'm still experimenting with this, haven't decided if I like video without the hull in screen or not ... opinions are welcome.

      Ben,

      Congratulations, the 5 minute clip

      Ben,

Congratulations, the 5 minute clip is the best onboard r/c sub video EVER! Personally, I loved the on-deck stern shots. Watching the planes and rudder do their things, and your beautiful lake unrolling behind. Classic.

Speaking of classic, you need to dub the theme from "Jaws" over a clip of the sub going forward through the weeds. Just like the title clip from the movie.
      Warm regards,

        Thanks Paul!

Will post more as time permits. In the rest of the stuff the sub isn't visible, much like the 1st bit .. some cool stuff there too.

BTW ... keep an eye on the other thread ... might need a script from you ... nudge nudge ..

                      I had a friend order

I had a friend order two. Can't find where they came from but here's an even better deal.

                      http://www.electronicsshowplace.com/ore ... ork=google

                      And here's a big range.

                      http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q= ... 1&ct=title

Took 3 days to get it. You could run it over with a car and nothing would happen.

                        Just a heads up guys.

Just a heads up guys. BD just sent me an email and was under the impression that this camera weighs 1 pound. That must be the shipping weight because placed on my scale here it weights 6 oz.

                              Tim,

I think you will like your purchase.

For trimming mine out I simply added 2 lead hobby bar strips attached to the exterior keel of the hull via elastics. (about 5.5 oz actually)

In the photo above you will also see some pink flexiable foam. You can get this stuff in about 6 inch wide rolls at your local building suppier. It's original design is to cover up the top of cinder blocks before a framed wall is put on it.

Now for the downside of the camera. It's to easy to shoot lots of video so disk space and video clip sizes increase drastically.

512 Meg will record 15 minutes and 36 seconds of video.

Here is my last (I promise) sample where the hull is not in view. This one is 7 minutes and 17 seconds ... and is 111 Megs compressed.

Where is all my web space disk space going ... good thing I upgraded a couple of months ago.

                              Cheers
