    Robbe Seawolf (refit) finished

It hasn't taken long to complete this project, but there is a little on the build up in the "Builder Threads" section.

Briefly the Robbe Seawolf kit was passed on to me to build and was missing the tower. So I built a new tower and based the model (loosely!) on HMS Repulse wearing the distinctive white markings during her DSRV trials. ..I think the USA is still the only country which has Deep submergence vessels that can help stricken subs which are very deep, and so the docking collars had to be tested on Brittish subs to make sure they are compatible in the event of a Brittish sub disaster.

The white markings show up on the model really well whilst running on the surface, and when she is cruising just below the murky waters of our local lake.

Here are some pics of the finished model.

A small 'keel' has also been added which stops the tendancy to roll - seen in this last pic.

    Hope you enjoy viewing them.

I have handed the completed model over today. If the owner sails her again next week I will take my camera and take some of her in the water.

The Robbe Seawolf went together pretty fast and easy. I really like the easy way the WTC fastens together. I don't think the radar scoop thing is neccessary at all, and I think the sub can be dressed up quite easily to look more 'real' than the box art. I would recommed one as a great introduction to model submarine building and sailing.

(Now on to my next project.. finish that U-boat that's taken me forever to complete!.....)

      Thanks for those kind words

Thanks for those kind words liftmys. Its nice to hear words of encouragement.
I haven't been browsing on these boards for a while ..I have had other jobs to do. And recently I built a few models for other people. Now I'm getting excited about working on my own sub(s). Just ordered some more parts, and trying to plan the diving system/layout.
