Several years ago I got into R/C subs with great enthusiasm but then suddenly lost interest while I was just starting out on my first project. The whole thing has haunted me ever since, and I still really want to put my old boat in the water (though I know I've earned points by acting like the real Russian Navy when it comes to the construction of a new Akula
) Anyhow, I had been working on the Dumas kit and had gotten some wonderful advice as well as parts from Skip, but a lot of the guts of this kit have been lost. What I do have is a top/bottom hull, a bag of misc. parts from the kit, the ST-10 electronic throttle from Sub Tech, a 4 Channel radio, and I think I've got the Dumas 6Volt motor laying around somewhere. My question to everyone here is, am I missing anything, or can I more or less get the boat running with what I've got? I remember something about wanting to buy an auto-leveler, and I remember Skip telling me without a doubt to get an electronic vs. mechanical speed control. Is that what the throttle is? Or do I need something else? I'll likely need to get the kit again to get the instruction book (which I think is long gone, as well as the vac-formed pieces for the WTC and the rest of it all. And I think I've got the Sub-Tech seals, but if not I seem to remember they were not too big of an expense. I'm a mere college student with a bank account to match (heh heh) so this project will definately take time if I go at it again. Anyhow, I do appreciate the help. We'll see what becomes of this.
