    It will be the next

It will be the next logical step the Russians should take in evolution of their boats.
    While I like the little Alfa, it's day has passed.This will be a 21st century , worry-about-it out-there somewhere , boat.

      maybe an Alfa, it is

maybe an Alfa, it is the fastest sub in the world, given to that stupid liquid magnesium reactor.
      Subcaptian,
AFAIK Alfas used Lead-Bismuth Alloy Cooled Fast Reactors not Magnesium.

makes one helluva flare enough to reduce the sub to a molten puddle of slag!

            Looks like this will go

Looks like this will go to a supplemental thread on repairs.
I tried to reassemble the pump jet shroud base. After getting it close, I realized it was just not going to be the same no matter how I willed it.
The answer is clear. I reordered another pumpjet to replace the damaged one.
I used the dremel to remove the base, and filed the stern back for the new shroud. I also discovered the front lower lip was cracked, so I removed that also. Found a crack in the lower part of the hull to be repaired. This is turning into a deal!!!

Screw shown to show paint gone where it was bent badly before.

For scale, and yes, to see who is paying attention.
This all comes into play as my path is now clear for the next two years. But, the subject at hand is not neglected.

So, why dont you just go ahead and spill the beans! I know your doing the Akula which will be fun because I got another one so I can redo it better this time. The other projects your hiding is to diff to determine. The reason for about 4 large PJs though is boggling.

                    What the heck is Wayne

What the heck is Wayne been doing????
Hanging out in the Heart Hospital of Houston(4 times in 90 days). But, I am still here, darn it!! Ha!! There are a few outside things going on that have slowed me down also. But, fans, while we waited, the screw got straighten, trued, resanded, and repainted.
The old pump jet base was gradually cut away, and resanded the stern down to pre-install condition.
I then slid the ouput shaft through the bearing in the hull, to insure alingment, and free turning (especially since the bearing is already fixed).
Using the bearing as a guide, I CAed the new pumpjet on.
I did, of course, clean up the inside of the new pump jet with files, and evercoated any irregularities and smoothed out. Why? For lower acoustical signature, of course!!!

I may be mistaken in what I'm seeing in these pictures, but I'd appreciate it if you didn't put my pumpjet assembly on someone else's Seawolf kit.

I don't think Wayne's using your PJs. The one he has on looks appropriate for 1/144 and not 1/96 scale. I think he's just using it for comparison...

                            Pete,
                            That is the Trumpetor

                            Pete,
That is the Trumpetor Seawolf in 144. It is a Caswell Pumpjet. Which, for that model is the best to have. It looks very scale.
The pumpjets I got from you are going on the classified projects I told you about You already know where the 3 are going, remember? (and you are sworn to secrecy).
I actually consider that a compliment, Pete. Your Seawolf in 1/96 is the best current production avalible in that scale. For my little park runner 1/44 to pass as accurate enough to even momentarily make you think it might be yours tells me it must look ok I am pleased with the project
While my build went with the reverse RCAB, which intrigues the heck out of me, Caswell's fittings kit to upgrade/enhance the Trumpetor kit are excellent quality. Credit given where due.
Now that this one is done, I have something to run with the Subron 5 guys while I have the REAL project again , working in drydock.
