Type XXIII sub from 32ed Parallel update help?

I have a Type XXIII sub from 32ed Parallel. I want to refurbish it and add to the detail. I built it when I was 16 and it is nice but it could be a lot nicer. What I am looking for is a source for the conning tower details like periscope, hatches etc. Can I buy them for this scale or is fabrication the only way? I think the kit was 1/42 but I am not 100% on that.

    Actually, it's 1/32nd scale. That's

    Actually, it's 1/32nd scale. That's the '32nd' part of 32nd Parrallel

I think that OTW also has a Type XXIII in that scale. Perhaps they would be willing to sell the detail parts seperately.

          The OTW is closer to

The OTW is closer to 1/24 and doesn't unfortunately come with scopes. And get this book http://www.amazon.de/Uboottyp-XXIII-Vom ... 3895554693
Its in German but thats not a problem, plenty of pitures and plan views. You can order from Amazon.de using your Amazon.com account and saved creditcard details.

I didn't realize it was the scale of all their kits. I thought it was referring to the earth 32nd North and South Parallel.

              As far as I know,

As far as I know, all of their kits, either sub or target, were 1/32nd scale except for their Ohio kit. Their first kit was a 1/32nd Type VII.

I still have one of their old catalogs, and will have to check on it. I keep the catalog around to remind myself of how stupid I was in not ordering one of their VS-8 hydrofoils before they went out of business.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the 32nd scale was how they came up with the company name. Is it true? Who knows.

                If you are ever so

If you are ever so inclined you should scan it to PDF. I would love to see the old catalog.
