    Happy Happy 212 Happy!!!!

    That's what I am.
    Happy Happy Happy!!!
I just received my new Steve Neill 212 kit and it is super nice
The glasswork is as good as I have ever seen.
The only sad part is Steve has decided to only do the one run of hulls. So if you were lucky enough to have ordered one you will not be dissapointed. I have heard D&E may take over production of the kit. So if you missed out there may still be a chance. I will post some photos later. BD.

    Dave,

    Document your build of this

    Dave,

Document your build of this sucker and do a SCR story on it. It's a nice unique boat that I think would be a refreshing subject for a story.

Same with your dolphin. That's just CRAZY!

And big, big photos for nice big, big spreads.

              I finally got some time

I finally got some time to get some photos of the hull. It is shown after flat sanding. It matches up perfectly as does the sail. Also shown are some of the other parts and the Mini-R cylinder I designed for this hull. I can't wait to get this little beastie into the water.
I know I have said this before but thank you Steve. I love this little boat. BD.

                BD your welcome. I'm glad

BD your welcome. I'm glad to hear all this. Out of 5 scratch builds this one will be the best. Hoping to start mine this weekend and Merriman is fast on the yokes, prop, masts and scopes making it even better. A nice shinny new sports car!

Here you can see the Mini-R cylinder next to the larger Gato cylinder. It is basiclly the same design just smaller and uses smaller components. BD.

                      Don't anyone tell Steve Neill

Don't anyone tell Steve Neill but I have been working on my kit.
I have the cylinder mounted, the X-tails on, and the hull indexed.
Everything is going to well; I am expecting Murphy to show up soon. BD.

                        Dave you make me look

Dave you make me look so good! Keep going!

It's a shame how little interest is in this boat from the community. Glad I won't be making anymore kits. They will be available from from D&E from now on.

I got some more done. Linkages are in and working. I received the fitting set made by David Merriman, very nice. This will make the assembly much easier. Even has two props.
This will keep them guessing, "Didn't you have a 6 blader on that?" No! Never!! . BD.

Thanks BD. Well you did good there. First rate job. Am still amazed how little attention the boat is getting in light of how good it is.

I get the feeling if it was anyone else but me and Merriman that made the boat it would be the talk of the town.

                              Steve,

Truly excellent work that you've done in creating the 212. My opinion is that this class of boat just doesn't have a very large following in North America. Too bad, it's a nice one! (both prototype and model)

Now if you were to apply your skills to that Type II.....
