before i went off for my vacation i got all the wiring connected on my Revell VIIC WTC. All worked fine, except the main power leads onto the ESC were not a very good joint. So on my return I did a bit more work to the hardware and re connected the ESC. Powered up the system only to find the motors running at full speed and no control from the TX. so i removed the wires and checked that no sollder had run. it looked clean. battery had not been charged since before my trip so i charged it up and tried again last night. Control had returned, phew. so i began to connect the servo leads onto the RX, then i noticed that the -VE power cable had not been re-soldered to the board!!!! so obvioulsy the ESC was running from the RX power! ok i thought if it works it works. so i connected up both the servo's, the extra power drain stopped the ESC from working so i touched the -VE back onto the board. Yet again full power and no control The batteries in the TX are getting low but i dont think that will have an impact, any other suggestions ?

Some of the old ST-10s
Some of the old ST-10s had an issue with the ESC locking on full power and could not be shut down without turning of mains power.
That happened on the very first run I made with my Alfa - quite scary. If it weren't for the qucik action of Jeff Jones and Paul Hruby, I might have lost the boat in the St. Louis Union Station swamp!
Skip Asay swapped my bad one for a new one and have never had a problem with my ST-10 since. You might want to check with Mike at Mike's Subworks to see if you got a faulty one. He is very knowledgable and I'm sure would help you out.

Paul Hruby and Jeff Jones perform a daring resuce of my Thor Alfa after the ESC locked full on and would not shut down!

1. try disconnect all connectors
1. try disconnect all connectors from receiver.
2. connect the esc to a servo tester to see if it work right.
3. if the esc works good, connect a servo to the receiver port with other servos, with the transmitter on move all the sticks to see any thing goes wrong.
I build my servo tester base on a 555 timer (real pain), or you can get it as a kit that can control up to 4 servos.

the easy way buy one from you hobby shop about $20.
to me a servo tester is a must have in a tool box.
