        Steve, I run my Thresher

Steve, I run my Thresher with a standard D&E WTC 3.0 purchased circa 1998. Here's an installation run-down taken from an old issue of the SCR:

The Battery Compartment is accessed through a removable forward bulkhead. Inside is the battery, usually a 6 cell NiCad pack. It is connected to the electronic speed control, in this case a ThorDesign SC-10 Speed Control. The SC-10 is then connected to the motor by wires which run through a watertight tube passing through the adjacent Ballast Tank to the aft dry space. It is recommended that a fuse be installed in-line between the battery and motor. A second lead runs from the SC-10 to the receiver in the aft compartment. This supplies power for the electronics via the SC-10's built-in battery eliminator circuit (BEC).

The Propulsion Compartment is accessed through a removable rear bulkhead. Mounted in the bulkhead is the electric motor and reduction gear. A 3][/url]

The radio receiver is mounted on the underside of the aluminum electronics rack attached to the frame rails. It is held on with a strip of velcro. You can see the end sticking out (blue case, black velcro). Above it is my old PC-2 pitch controller. It has since been upgraded to a PC-4. The new unit was mounted using a dollop of PFM, a cool adhesive that works well but remains flexible enough to remove with a slice of a razor blade.

Aft are the servos. Their mounting tabs were cut off the cases and they were taped together with electrical tape. Then they were positioned between the rails and secured with servo tape underneath and a zip tie wrapped around the unit and the rails.

Hope this helps. What boat are you putting your WTC in?

              Steve,

              Glad the images helped.

You should be able to use your 3" WTC in both boats. Just swap them out. I use the pictured WTC in both my 1/96 Permit and 1/96 Los Angeles. It just requires trimming each hull out to work with the WTC.

That was the original concept behind the WTC: to have a modular design which can be swapped from boat to boat. This eliminates the need for internal watertight bulkheads and separate electronics for each hull.

Please post some pictures of your boat and WTC setup.
              Warm regards,
