    Conversion question

I know by this site and others that several people are converting the Revell 72nd GATO styrene kit to R/C. It is a huge kit and just begs for it I know. But is the styrene strong enough to take the wear-and-tear of R/C operation?

Most of the boats I have seen in the SCR and here online have been fiberglass. FG is strong. You can stand on it in some cases. But surely the styrene of this kit can't compare.

I do not have my kit yet. My hobby store has yet to get my order in. So I have nothing to base my concern on other than years of building and buying styrene kits. I don't know whether I will go for R/C or static when I get my kit either. But the shere size of this kit just asks for the extra effort!

Could some of you old salts chime in and let me know if my wonderings have any basis? When I do decide what to do I want to have fewer doubts.
