    I just ordered the Revell

I just ordered the Revell 1/72 Gato.

All laugh at my hopes of powered torpedos.

Can I do the overly simple way of a wound up rubber band motor inside a cheating .45 to .500" diameter fish and launch it ?

I use wind ups for the loads of kids boats I give away. Range was 30'

      sounds like you will have

sounds like you will have to try.

      It might very well work.

One thing to solve : it should be the propellor that turns, not the
      hull of the torpedo.
but you can fix that by putting fixed prop blades on the torpedo hull
(working in the other direction than the prop itself).
This way, everything that turns helps propel the torpedo.

let us know about yor test !
