    Mylo,

Best Type II plans that Ihave seen are the ones done by Gerry Beck (ex. Type II U-boat crewman). They can be purchased through Taubman Plans.

For me it's just about a toss-up between the Type VII and Type II being my favorite....with the Type VII perhaps edging out the Type II.

Let me know when you want to start one your Type II, I'll be glad to get some research material to you. Also, depending on what scale you are looking to build your Type II, I also am in the process of making a photo-etched deck for mine in 1/32nd scale.

      Mylo,

      I was warned

      Mylo,

I was warned about the polyester fumes :
      1) do not inhale -> ventilate
      2) beware of explosion

both seem to counteract the scenario of closing the cosy shed door
      and turning up the burner....

at least be a bit cautious

        Jeff,

I'll likely be doing a type IIA next, which will probably be about this time next year, if all goes well on my current VIIc/41 project. All my U-Boat builds are going to be 1/25 scale.

        Ronald,

Thanks for the heads up. Perhaps a diesel burning heater and polyester fumes enclosed in a garage aren't a good mix......with me in there passed out on top of it all. .....miiiiight have to give this some further thought.

        Mylo.
