    thordesign Permit stern plane problem...

    hey Guys,

I`ve figured I would ask the pro sub builders about this...I`m presently building a Thordesign Permit which I purchased from Lyle at AtomicSubs a while back...I`ve recently noticed that the shaft in the starboard stern plane was drilled in crooked...Any suggestions on how to fix this?? i`d love to finish this beautiful boat, but this problem has prevented me from moving forward...keep in mind, this is my first sub...rookie builder!hehe

    thanks in advance!

    Steve,

Try pulling it out with a pair of pliers. I've removed shafts from ThorDesign planes and rudders before. Then use a drill press to drill another hole and glue in the shaft. It may be easier to fill the old hole with resin or glue before drilling the new hole.
