    Epoxy Question

Hello all I am starting on my Thor Alfa that I have been sitting on for all most a year now and have a question. I have a copy of Matt's online directions for his Permit and he recommends 2 hour Ex Slow Cure epoxy made by BSI. I can't find any thing but 30 Slow cure epoxy here where I am from BSI. Will this work or should I just track some down online and pay the shipping charges?? Also I can't find SIG brand Micro balloons either so will any micro balloons do?? I just don't want to screw this up. I am farely new, my first was a Dumas Akula I built last year and decided to try my skills with a ballast system sub. I love this Alfa!!!

    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Any microballoon type filler will

Any microballoon type filler will work. I think I use the stuff from Tower Hobbies house brand.
Do you have a marine supply near you? If so, pick up some West Systems epoxy and hardener. You won't use it all now, but you will on future builds I'm sure. I've had mine for some time now and it keeps well if you follow their advice.

      Thanks for the reply Chris,

Thanks for the reply Chris, what West system should I use I know their longest cure time is like 40-55 minutes. I think it was like 209 or something close to that. I have a hobby store here but it concentrates on planes, I will look for a Marine store. Thanks again.

        I have the 105A resin

I have the 105A resin and the slower hardener, I think it's 206A. Pot life is ~1/2 hour and full cure is a day or so. Don't forget to buy the metering pumps that go with it.
