    New R/C Model Maker

    Hey Everyone,

I have just recently joined in the leagues of R/C Submarines. I have had some previous R/C experience with ships and planes but nothing like this. Any hints/tips you have for a begginer. Maybe even a starter project? All imput would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Brandon

    First,

    Aaahhhh... the age old question....
    First, welcome.
Second, two questions]www.subpirates.com[/url]) has a few nice vac-form kits and Big Dave sells a line of cylinder kits to go with them.

Take your time, do some research, have fun!

      Greatings fellow newb! I've made

Greatings fellow newb! I've made my first sub "the albacore" imho its the best "trainer" difficult enough for you to say " hey, I'm learning!" bust simple enough to help you cheer " I can do this!"

Definatly to a board search so you know the limitations of the boat.

        hi Tonly,
        I agree with

        hi Tonly,
I agree with Chris when he mentioned the Dumas Akula, this is a really neat running, dynamic diving model you won't spend a ton of money and time on. Mike Driskel built one of these and it was just plain fun to watch and run. This would of been my first sub if I were to do it all over again. good luck, you came to the right place. Jeff Jones

          The Akula was my first

The Akula was my first and I still run her. Couldn't agree more with the guys here.

Here's a video of her in action.

            I agree with all that

I agree with all that has been posted so far. The Albacore may be the best starter sub, however, if your budget is limited, the Akula is a good choice. The neat part about the Akula is that you can get aftermarket upgrade parts and can turn it into a static (ballast tank) diver too.

Be sure to join the SubCommittee and get the magazine to learn about how to do all this cool stuff!

                  Hey everyone,

                  Thanks for all

                  Hey everyone,

Thanks for all the info, I enjoyed reading what you had to say. I think since it is such a popular sub, I will stick to the Akula. More posts coming later. Newb Questions Of Course.
