The Dumas Akula - Making a cheap model better

[color=#000000]Ive done a few searches on the forums for the Dumas Akula kit and found many articles on the possibiltiy of converting this kit to static diver and that it is a good begginer model i havent found much.
My perpose behind creating this thread is create a place (for the obviously large amount ofpeople who own these subs) to find way of improving this kit, not just by adding a WTC.
Currently I am trying to enhance the outside apperance of my Akula by adding vent holes. i would also like to add topside raing and so forth, but there are not always alot of the pics your looking for showing the proper detail you want.

One of the things that i have changed to my Akula is the battery compartment. I found that after frequent usage the styrene tubes break, the side lips crack, nad in general it just leaks]

    Though about another good trick

Though about another good trick for this model.

Due to the design of this wtc it can be very hard to ventilate even if the cap is removed. This is especially important if you are using the provided seals because they allow more leakage then say the ones offered at milkes subworks. If you dont get all the water out of the wtc things like the motor, screws in servoes and everything else will start to rust.

What i found works is during the construction of the sub I painted every piece of metal in the WTC. Look at the modern navy. Its been their policy for years and there is a reason for it.. it prevents rusting. We call it Paint and Preservation.

Another neat trick I found is to go to walmart or where ever and get yourself a small aquarium air pump and some hose. Next time your airing it out put the hose all the way down by the motor and plug in the pump. For about 10 bux you can help keep the inside dry.

Ill add more things as I learn them myself!
    Regards

      Some pics of the stuff

Some pics of the stuff im talking about. The pictures have comments below them.
My painted WTC and components. I also pilled misc. metal crevaces with silicone and gave the motor a small coating of silicone.

And a few shots of the real thing for you obsessed people like me.
