Linear servo with pager motor - 4 linear servos in 3cm x 5cm cylinder

    Hi,
I'm working on a mini linear servo system in a small cylinder about 5cm diameter and 3cm length, with 4 linear servos and a motor propeller which uses 4 pager motors for the servos.

Hope this idea could be useful.

    very nice ! Thanks for

very nice ! Thanks for sharing.

but how do you plan to make the movement lineair ?

do you have gears already ?

Please continue posting as your project progresses!

      Very nice packaging of the

Very nice packaging of the motors. Any idea of what the associated electronics package for the servo motors wil lbe?

        The electronic circuitry is still

The electronic circuitry is still a work in progress, however the 5 motors will be driven by 3 circuits using the L293E dual H-Bridge motor driver IC (see schematics I attached at the bottom of my page).

The 3 dual motors driver circuits will then be controlled by a PIC microcontroller.

The linear movement is obtained by means of endless screw principia, you can see this in the pictures impg0135, impg0144, impg0145 and impg0149.

The endless screw is a M3, 3cm length bolt, to the bolt is screwed a modified connector (the one used in the mammuth connectors) which in turns slides over a 3mm diameter brass rod.

I still thinking how to couple each mini motor with a bolt...
Has someone a reliable idea ?
I thought to use small rubber bands...

          there are several vendors of

there are several vendors of small gears.

          e.g. lemo solar
and Conrad of course (although they might not have small enough
          gears).

I think rubber bands will slip easily, you might want to consider
toothed belts, but i think these are often too big for your
          application.
