    another battery question

    [color=#000000]I am rc-ing an academy german u-boat IXB and need some advice on what kind of battery to use. It will be powering a 280 motor, a Futaba rx, Proboat ESC, and two Hitec micro servos. I'd like decent run times, but I don't have a lot of space. To give you an idea of the space I do have, I can stack 4 AA batteries in the forward compartment in this configuration]

    [color=#000000]Hi,

    yes, the number of mAh is the capacity of the battery, so the bigger the number the longer the fun.

    I had 6 AA cells (nimh) in that academy thing.
    I would advice you to go with the nimh AA's because
    they are relatively cheap, and as time progresses you can
    replace them with larger capacity AA cells. if possible use
    5 cells if the receiver needs 5 volts.

    The new kid on the block is LiPo, these batteries
    are used where space and weight counts ]

      Presently, Radio Shack is selling a pack of 8 1200 NIMH cells for $9.99. The pack is for a rc car they no longer market. Flat pack configuration 4 cell wide and 2 cells long.

      I am using them in my Kilo (6 pack) ,Seawolf (sixpack) and plan to use a four pack in my XX111.

      Love my Lipos too, Rick
