Still need help with electronics - This is a continuation from earlier post

[color=#000000]I am still not able to get the motor in my Thor Permit to reverse. I'm using a Robbe F-14 TX and RX with a SC-20 ESC. I replaced the SC-20 ESC with a FutabaMC230CR and still couldn't get the motor to reverse. I then ran the following tests with batteries fully charged]

    Bill,

    I had the same problem.

    Bill,

I had the same problem. Worse I couldn't get it to go in forward or reverse at first. That's with the SC-20

Turn on the radio and make sure the trim is neutral and the throttle at full stop. Then turn on the sub. Move the throttle all the way forward. Wait a beat then back to neutral and then to reverse and wait a beat. You should hear a click each time. Back to neutral and from there you should have both forward and reverse.

The ESC has to be set first to those positions.

I hope that's the problem with yours. Not really a problem but the way you have to set up the ESC first before running.

    Best of luck.

Thanks again Steve, I kept coming back to the speed control after each test I did but not being familiar with how they actually work I was getting nowhere. I'll try your suggestion.

        also with some speed controles

also with some speed controles like that, there is a small 2 sec window from the time you power on and hit the set button, or it will not change anything and you will be going mad trying to figure out what is not working.

          You bet Bill. And Dave

You bet Bill. And Dave is right about that too. The man knows his stuff.

Let us know how it goes. Good I hope.
