    Help I need a new Speed control

    Hi All
    I think I posted this before but forget. I need a new speed control for my Robbe U-boat. Single speed control that runs two motors. Power source two 7.2 volt standard rc packs. I have tried here in Toronto but the shops I went too do not really know what I want, or are too busy to care and order me one. They just don't get Subs. What is a good control and where can I get it? If any fellow Cdn. members can put me onto someone here who has one that would be even better.

      The Robbe Rokraft range and

      The Robbe Rokraft range and Mtoniks Sonik4 Maine Range. Mtronik also do a Sumbmarine ESC with a beefier BEC. Astec http://www.astecmodels.co.uk/ do a nice marine ESC for scale baots (rather than fast electric) and if you can cough up for a second ESC, their differental steering mixer ( slows one motor down, speeds the other when your turn, throws one into reverse on max rudder etc..) will help your turning no end.

          Hi Dave,

          The only Canadian source I can think of would be Dan at Model Control Devices (www.modelcontrol.com) up in Bobcaygeon. I've purchased one of his Minicon ESCs to drive both screws on my 1/96 OSCAR. Be advised that this unit has no BEC.

              How does that steering mixer work.Seems like it would be a good idea for use in the larger boats with enough room in the WTC for everything.

                  Both ESC's and rudder servo plug into the mixer. Both ESC's work off one channel. The programing on the mixer knows how much throttle you've applied and how much rudder and works out how it need to alter the two motors to best turn the boat given the inputs. It is fully proportioal in differential balance. Less headache than using a twin throttle stick set up and uses up 1 less channel.
