My local wallmart has a bunch of those 20$ subs and i was wondering which freq. would work better? 27 or 49mhz? Is there even a difference between the two?

Well yes and no. It depends on where you live, who is your neighbor and how many C.B.'ers there are in your area. Let me explain. Citizen Band radio's are on 27 Mz. Do you run close to any trucking route., this the frequency that they use. Ham raido is on 6 meters or 50Mz. Do you live close to any Amature Radio guys. You can take it from me that any radio running 100 to 1000 watts is going to walk all over any $20.00 Wal-mart Sub. If neither of the above is a concern. Then the answer is 27 Mz.
