Project S - Atomic Subs new 1/48 S Boat kit - Progress Photos

    Hello Guys,

OK, here are a few shots of the newly cut S Boat sail. Phase 1 is being headed up by Tom Anderson who is cutting our plug parts. The sail shown here has been sent to Matt Thor to work his magic in the molding process also referred to as Phase 2. As you can see, the plug that Tom has sent is "as smooth as a babies bottom". The hull will be cut in April so stay tuned for it's arrival.

Now a quick note from your sponsor (I do have a banner up top) Atomic Subs will be greatly expanding it's fleet of subs over the next two years. Matt Thor has retired from the vendor business, but will now focus on new product development for Atomic Subs. If you have been a fan of Matt's ThorDesign Kits well, lets just say "you ain't seen nuthin' yet!" Atomic Subs will be working hand in hand with Matt as well as David Merriman, Tom Anderson, Jeff LaRue (just to drop a few names) to produce a range of kits that will be some of the finest submarine kits found in America today. A new line of 1/72 kits are currently under development as well as the 1/48 US & Russian Fleet boat (USS Wahoo and SHCH.)

Also, Matt will be continuing with his "Epoxy School" series along with other master modeling tips which will be posted to the Atomic Subs web site under the upcoming "how do you do that" section soon to be on the site.

So, as always, don't touch that dial; we'll be right back!

    Lyle

      Ooh - you almost snuck

Ooh - you almost snuck that past me - a Russian fleet boat! I've been looking for a reasonably-sized model of *any* of their WWII submarine classes for ages, and have failed miserably. An SHCH would make a welcome addition to my slowly-increasing Russian sub fleet

      Cool!
