OTW - a vendor of the highest integrity - Thanks to Robert Dimmack...

    Gentlemen,

I would like to personally thank Mr. Robert "Bob" Dimmack for his service beyond what's expected. I purchased his top quality 1/32nd Type VIIC kit over two years ago and have completed the hull. I used a couple of washers to build the lower 88 MM cannon base. Reciently, I noticed the cannon built by Paul von Braun which had a resin base. I sent Bob an email and asked if it would be possible to get a base after all this time.

Bob ordered the base from the verdor that made the cannon and it arrived today. If you are looking for a vendor that stands behing his products, then I highly recommend OTW Designs products and Bod Dimmack to all.

    Regards,
    Don_

Don, co-incidence is a funny thing... i signed in to write a similar recommendation for Bob Dimmack, and saw your post. I have to agree in all respects ! I have 2 of Bobs kits, the Type VIIC, and also his 1/72 scale Trafalgar. I recently lost part of the prop-shaft on the Trafalgar...not only did Bob promise me that he would replace the part, he emailed me later the same day to say that he had already posted it ! Not only are Bobs products of a superb quality, but he is also a very helpful, and genuine guy.A pleasure doing business with him.

I've never bought anything from Bob but he kindly phoned me (intercontinental calls!) in two occasions to discuss in person questions about his new Churchill class hull. He took his time and pay the phone calls just to talk with someone who is not a customer so I can only imagine what he can do with his customers!

He is very committed with the hobby. I'm seriously considering saving for buying one of his products!

You guys are echoing what I have been writing about and saying for years. Bob's top shelf; no two ways about it. His customer service is excellent, and his products are awesome. If you are on the fence about anything OTW, there's no need to worry; you will be taken care of.

All Bob wants you to understand is that his kits require some fabrication. They are not like a Revell plastic kit. If you have some fabrication skills, you will end up with a running model, not a shelf queen.

There's no doubt in my mind that Bob is one of the best R/C sub vendors out there. His commitment to quality and customer support is the best.

I have several of his OTW kits and all have proved to be an excellent value for the money. They are well constructed, have excellent detail, and when completed run very well.

He's got several new hulls in development that I can't wait to see!

            Hello all,
indeed I concur with all the above comments.
Wen I went to pick up my type VII kit with Nikki, we were welcomed into Bob's house with a cup of tea and some biscuits!
We also had a good chat about model making and design work in general (as Bob is also a product designer of sorts - and a #### good one too).
When things have not been going quite according to plan, Bob has been there to give advice.
Quite simply, if all of my colleagues in the NHS were as accomdating then all the patients would get seen on time, not have their ops cancelled and generally be happier people.
A lot of individuals would do well to copy Bob's example.

            Paul.

              I agree, OTW is AAA+

I agree, OTW is AAA+ from what I can see!
I have had dialogue with Bob, he is truly a class A act!

Alas, it will be awhile before I can afford an OTW kit & WTC!

The GBP to US dollar exchange rates make OTW kits the most expensive on the market by far, to US buyers at least!
I long for an OTW Upholder & WTC. both would be 1,085 GBP.
US dollar conversion =$1,950 US without shipping!
That is comparable to an Engel Typhoon with a few options thrown in additionally!

The Euro to US dollar exchange rates seem more favorable, making the Engels & other Euro dollar nation kits more affordable for now, at least for me!
