Does anyone know if the after market electronics offered by SubTech and Engel (pitch controllers, BTS etc. ) are compatible with PCM radios? I am currently trying to decide between a Futaba 9C (PCM) or F14 (FM) system. Any thoughts or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Au contraire. SubTech electronics work just fine with AM, FM, AND PCM radios.
The signal sent from transmitter to receiver is different but signal from receiver to servos, APC-4, and other electronic devices is still the same.
What sets PCM radios apart is that the receiver will output the LAST VALID SIGNAL received from the transmitter on loss of signal. This means that failsafes that work on the missing pulse principle won't function since they still see a valid signal. PCM radios can be programmed for failsafe under these circumstances but, to the best of my knowledge, failsafe activation is instantaneous (no delay). Most PCM radios (again, to the best of my knowledge) can be programmed around this by either disabling the failsafe function or by programming a signal considerably outside normal signal parameters (1.00 - 2.00mS).
